The Story
Stepped grecas drawn from the stone mosaics of Mitla anchor four framed panels over deep turquesa, punctuated with cochineal diamonds and pericón sunbursts. Hand-loomed in churro wool with natural indigo, cochineal, and pericón dyes on a traditional pedal loom in Teotitlán del Valle.

Every colour in this piece begins as a plant, a mineral or an insect, prepared in the workshop before the first thread reaches the loom.
- 100% Merino Wool
- Cochineal
- A scale insect raised on nopal cactus, ground and mixed with lime or lemon to move from deep crimson to soft rose.
- Indigo
- Fermented añil leaves, dipped and oxidised in air until the blue deepens with each bath.
- Marigold
- Pericón blossoms, boiled to yield warm golds and, over indigo, soft greens.
