The Story

A central spiral drawn from Mitla's stone mosaics anchors a field of pre-Hispanic glyphs — pyramid peaks, stepped frets, and scattered droplets — bordered in charcoal and framed in bone. Hand-loomed in merino wool with cochineal reds, indigo, and pericón yellow, signed by the weaver at the corner.

From the Earth

Every colour in this piece begins as a plant, a mineral or an insect, prepared in the workshop before the first thread reaches the loom.

100% Merino Wool
Cochineal
A scale insect raised on nopal cactus, ground and mixed with lime or lemon to move from deep crimson to soft rose.
Indigo
Fermented añil leaves, dipped and oxidised in air until the blue deepens with each bath.
Marigold
Pericón blossoms, boiled to yield warm golds and, over indigo, soft greens.
