The Story
Twin geometric birds drawn from pre-Hispanic codices face one another across a saturated cielo-blue field, framed by a deep indigo border with a pericón-green inner line. Hand-loomed in churro wool with natural indigo and pericón dyes, signed by the weaver at the lower corner.

Every colour in this piece begins as a plant, a mineral or an insect, prepared in the workshop before the first thread reaches the loom.
- 100% Merino Wool
- Cochineal
- A scale insect raised on nopal cactus, ground and mixed with lime or lemon to move from deep crimson to soft rose.
- Indigo
- Fermented añil leaves, dipped and oxidised in air until the blue deepens with each bath.
- Marigold
- Pericón blossoms, boiled to yield warm golds and, over indigo, soft greens.
